Do you guys think Battlefield 4 is better than 3? I've been enjoying 3 a lot, and I'm thinking about getting 4 (though it wouldn't be until next spring probably). I don't really care about bugs right now, since I'd assume they'd be mostly patched out in a few months.
Anyway, which is a better game? More fun? Do you think it's worth it for me to get Battlefield 4? What about Premium?
I'd suggest waiting for a good deal on BF4 (base game and premium). It's fun, but I don't think it's worth the full $60 for the base game and $50 for premium. I do think BF4 is better than BF3 though. Everything that should have been in BF3 has pretty much been crammed into BF4. Hm, I guess I could make a pros/cons list...
Battlefield 3
Pros:
Smooth and optimized gameplay
Maps are fun and easy to memorize
Balanced
Extra content has already been released
Cheap
Netcode is bearable
Cons:
New players are at a disadvantage (unless you purchase unlocks; even then the skill gap is wide)
Fair amount of cheaters now that the game is no longer being updated
Most of the player base has moved over to BF4
Not very much customization
Battlefield 4
Pros:
More players
New and better (imo) maps
Lots of customization
More ways to earn items, other than grinding
Improvements and tweaks are being added everyday.
Excellent visuals
Amazing audio, especially if you have the proper equipment to drive it
Cons:
Netcode can still be a pain at times
Bugs are still present and can be a nuisance
Expensive
Not as smooth as BF3 (I'm sure this will improve with time)
Campaign was short and empty (I liked it better than BF3's campain though)
BF4 is a lot better than BF3 when it works. The recent patch broke the game for me and made the kill delay and one hit kills unbearable. Its a bit broken right now, but if you enjoyed BF3 you're definitely gonna enjoy this one. I would wait to buy premium though.
That's a really good list, thanks for taking the time to write it!
I think I'll just stick with BF3 until there's a deal for 4. I did really like the assignments in 3, they felt like less of a grind than just getting more points to level the various classes.
