bf3 crashing issue (7950 + i5 @ 4.7ghz)

I am having an issue with bf3 where I can play 1 game but as soon as I join another game my cpu goes to 100 percent usage and bf3 crashes. A "display device stopped working" error pops up as well.

using a i5 3570k in a asus p8z77-v lx mobo with a msi 7950

on the latest 13.3 beta drivers

Can anyone help?

4.7 is a pretty good OC on a i5, are you sure its 100% stable? personally I'd bring it down to 4.5, you wont see any change in performance and unless someone gets a bad chip, almost all of them are capable of that overclock. Did you OC the graphics card any? also you can try going into your device manager and disabling the built in graphics on your processor.

4.7ghz 100 percent stable on a h100 with push fans

7950 was at 1050/1350 at the time of crashing

I disabled my onboard video but the problem still persists

could be pushing your 7950 a bit, tone down your overlock, and it should be more stable.

I was playing crysis 3 at 1200/1600 with the card at like 80c.....

it's a beast lol

I crash a lot in bf3 With any sort of overclock on my gpu, See if the crashing persists with no overclock

it does

I think it's a cpu issue somehow

What voltages do you have on the i5? It is probably not 100% stable, as you claim. What did you use to test it, and how long?

4.7ghz at 1.480v

totally stable during 24 hour prime95 small fft test

1.48V is really, really, really high. I would back down to 4.6gHz at 1.3V. You are risking damage to your CPU at those frequencies and voltages. If you could lower the voltage to 1.334, or something, and be stable, it would be a lot safer.

alright

ramped back from 4.7ghz @ 1.480 to 4.6ghz @ 1.355

still not solved

although installing an enb mod stopped the crashes and uninstalling it made the problem happen again

I'd roll back to a stable driver for the GPU not the beta drivers. 13.2/1 should be fine.

sounds good
