im just saying those mostly useless popup notifications could have at least told me i need to free space for system updates, or chose any of my other drives to cashe maybe?

I donât think it can cache on other drives unless specified. C: is the system drive so is always used for such (unless youâve put in your own deployment tools to use other devices for example).
It will have told you that you were low on space? Thatâs the key part. Though it should be documented somewhere for power users about how low space works, itâs not super clear.
