It's free if you have Skyrim and the DLC's.
It's going to be a separate game @psycho_666 from what they have been saying.

I doubt it will mess up the mods.
If anything, the modders will just tweak their original mods for 64 bit, and be done with it.
If it works like it did for Bioshock it'll appear as a different game in your library.
I can't imagine what they've done to this archaic engine to get it to run as such demanding specs. I wouldn't be surprised if it's as buggy as its release 5 years ago.
They won't. It's a a separate game.
I'm surprised they didn't release the original with a 64-bit executable. I'm all for backwards compatibility, but at some point you just have to draw a line...and Skyrim definitely NATIVELY needed access to more than 4GB memory...
And as far as the engine, FO4 was just an engine update, although unmodded it was a very nice engine update.
so they basically just ported the game to an engine it was already using and gave it away for free to the people that already had it...I can't really find anything to complain about with that.
Now if only Bethesda can learn how to make proper high res textures...
I wonder if the remaster has better visual fidelity than a modded version of the original.
My money is on that it's not.
I can. Game speed is tied to the framerate in Fallout 4 version of the engine.
Fair enough on that one.
That is actually something I was unaware of. I keep a 60 fps limiter on all my games tho, since I'm using 60Hz panels, so I hadn't noticed.
I know there was a similar thing in the original [Skyrim] when I upgraded from my GTX560 (not Ti) to my 980Ti. I hadn't installed any mods but especially during the intro sequence physics went absolutely berserk until I put a FPS cap on it.
I liked the Gamebryo engine better overall though. My biggest disappointment with the creation engine is multi-monitor support. (I prefer 3x1080p). While it 'can' be done...it's far less than optimal.
Like most games, I'm not sold on the "recommended" specs on the Skyrim Remaster. If what the current speculation is has any truth, I'll put my money on it being just as graphically demanding as Fallout 4 is (which runs just fine on my R9 270)... Even the minimum specs are something to not completely trust, I had Oblivion running pretty decently on a Pentium 4's integrated graphics, and alot of games about as demanding as Skyrim running on a Pentuim B950's integrated graphics. I'm not saying it's pretty or worth doing if you have something better, but it can be done. I would be surprised if the "minimum" requirement didn't default to the game's "Medium" setting.
