http://www.overclock3d.net/news/software/skyrim_special_edition_pc_system_requirements/1 Long story short: System requirements for Skyrim remastered: Minimum Windows 7/8.1/10 (64-bit Version) Intel i5-750/AMD Phenom II X4-945. 8GB of ram. 12 GB free HDD space NVIDIA GTX 470 1GB /AMD HD 7870 2GBRecommended Windows 7/8.1/10 (64-bit Version) Intel i5-2400/AMD FX-8320. 8GB of ram. 12 GB free HDD space NVIDIA GTX 780 3GB /AMD R9 290 4GB
So my 270X will drag that game on low. I rather play the old ugly version 60fps, than the new beautiful version on low everything... 270X is more powerful than GTX 760, 3 generations older graphics card. Bethesda can just go F themselves. it's the same mother f@kin game. Jesus, what the f@ck...
The problem is probably your VRAM. the 270x is a 2GB card, if I remember correctly.
I get it, it's a bit annoying, but honestly, the special edition is nothing to write home about. I used to get some awesome improvements to the original game from the HD Textures off nexus and an ENB.
I have heavily OC 270X... Basically i outperform 7950, but that's not the issue. My main annoyance is because of 2 reasons: 1. i still don't know if they are going to force update skyrim, meaning i don't want this crap. I want the 60fps maxed version, not the new one. 2. I want to play Fallout 3. I can't. It just doesn't work on W7 and the issue is not mine. The steam page says it. Why the hell do they fuck up perfectly functional game with Nvidia crap (GTX470 vs 7870), when they can remaster Fallout 3 and get trillion sales out of nowhere... How significant are those changes, so they need sandy bridge and R9 290 as recommended? Dafak have they done to skyrim? I would have not cared if that was not one of my favorite games.
I think you're missing my point about it being a 2GB card.
I doubt they will. Just doesn't make sense. Steam will probably want to make a separate appid. (Steam likes to encourage compatibility)
Fallout 3 doesn't work on W7? I don't play fallout, since I just don't have the time, but when I tried it on my W7 box, it worked fine (that was back when it was new though) Try running it in compatibility mode for XP and windowed borderless. That should help.
Have you even tried playing Remastered yet? the problem is that their recommendations are just recommendations. Run it with no AA, run it at 720p, deal with 45FPS, or pick up a 470 or 480. they're cheap, and in stock.
IDK man, they are asking you for account in bethesda cervice, similar to Ubisoft and EA when you want to play Fallout Shelter, a free to play mobile game on PC...
Some people say they don't have issues with F3. Whenever i tried playing, it crashes every 10-20 minutes. Pirated versions crashed in the middle of the first cut scene.
Not out yer. They have just released the official system requirements.
Aside from the much better CPU utilization it's highly doubtful that it'll look better than modded original skyrim, the only reason they're really releasing this is for the PS4/Xbone
Soooo don't buy it then. I don't know why they are even remastering it in the first place. Seems very silly to have bought a game "skyrim" and then release a "HD version" and people will buy it even though it is the exact same game with basically a new texture pack. (which can be already done with mods) same goes for cod 4 remaster.
Now if the game no longer works properly on new operating systems then I can understand doing a remastering.
So they are completely in the right here to make a game with shit requirements, that is 5 years old and works perfectly fine, erasing modability in the process, while ignoring the games, that doesn't work propperly? And i am not allowed to be angry, that a company i liked before is turning into shit money grabbing EA/Ubisoft wannabe and they are fucking up Skyrim in the process? One of my favorite games? If it is my fault, that i react about things i like, so be it. I like skyrim, and what Bethesda is doing is shit.
They upgraded the graphics of course the system requirements are going to be different. Pretty obvious. But you know going onto a forum and bitching like a spoiled child solves it.
I was asked by the mods so I took it away... I don't quite understand what would silence solve if expressing frustration and anger doesn't solve anything. What am I suppose to do? Nothing? Just take for granted all the crap? Not expressing anger and frustration leads us to President Trump territory. I am not happy with what they are doing and the crap they are pulling with every other game they release is not giving me any hopes. I don't know how much of a graphical update they have done to take my system from above recommend to minimum requirement... It's the same game from 5 years ago. Nobody asked for this...
@psycho_666 The Skyrim modding community is still alive and well, the engine needed updating for the modding community to continue evolving so that's what they did. I look forward to replaying it.
I agree that Bethesda should be working on getting games to work on modern systems like Fallout 3, but, this is mainly to satisfy console owners who are too lazy or ignorant to become a member of the pcmr. Mods do all of this and more so this is clearly not a release directed towards pc gaming (especially from Bethesda who have generally been quite friendly towards the modding community).
Why are they doing this to satisfy console gamers? Because they are (unfortunately) a huge market. As a result, there's a lot of money to throw around (and being console plebs they clearly don't have the best judgement when it comes to spending: dlc, preorders, full price games, buying dumb remasters like this [of course I jest a little... consoles have their place, skyrim is not one of them imo]).
