All ready went with the Asus P8Z77-V LK Intel Z77 built my new pc yesterday had some issues lining it up correcty with the standoffs not sure if it was the case or the board.
Note: I took out the correct standoffs for my board.
the extreme 4 is truly bang for buck; the only reason i would go for an extreme 6 would be if i would go for 3 physical gpu's for tri sli or the amd equivalent (lol i have never used amd before so i am unsure of the proper term)
that's the only big difference i can see from the extreme 4 and extreme 6. you're generally paying 30 more bucks for an extra pci-e x16 slot (which is pci-e 2.0 iirc running at 4x).
most games won't really take advantage of 3 physical gpu's anyway, so i chose the extreme 4. cheaper and pretty much the same features minus the extra pci-e x16 slot.
if you chose to go extreme 4 with an i5 2500k or a 3570k overclocked, with 16gb ripjaws gskill ram, nzxt tempest 410 case, one dvd drive, one 7200 rpm sata hdd and an ati radeon 7970 do you think a nzxt hale82n 550 watt power supply would be enough or would that be an issue?
it should suffice. however, may i know you budget so maybe i can suggest another PSU if ever. also, if you are going to overclock, what after market cooler are you getting?
haven't decided on a cooler yet(hopefully a quiet one), i actually already ordered a 550 but debating on getting a refund when it arrives and getting a 750. this is a single monitor display for the living room as a game pc on the tv. pretty much feeling the xbox360 isn't living up to my expectations any more for games.
