I'm getting a 3770k, and was wondering is there all the z77 board the same and the expensive boars are just equipped with fancier cooling and more ports? Because I can get an as rock z77 e4 for 120, will it bottleneck my cpu. And what is the best z77 board. First PC build, thx.
Motherboards make almost no difference to CPU or GPU performance. Pick one based on features, looks, price and overclocking ability.
From what I have read online, the ASRock Z77 Extreme 4 is a really nice board for the money.
The asus p8z77 VL-K boards is on sale for like $115 on newegg, seems worth it to me
When it comes to mobos, look for pci slots, sata ports, usb headers and ports, and just quality in general. I'd reccommend the mobo you picked.
I have a MSI Mpower, it comes with onboard wifi and bluetooth. The OC Genie II function got my 3770K to a stable 4.2Ghz. I like it so far.
