What is the story on controllers, emulators and roms?

not have much luck getting my 360 contoller to work.
the best way to game is on the original consoles, the second best is to use classic controllers using this thing for GameCube, xbox (original) and PS2
the third is a PS3 controller wired or wireless, maks shows you how to do that in his latest video
I've only used Snes9x but thats a bit dated does BSnes have anything that Snes9x doesn't like bloom shaders and antialiasing like my PS3 Snes emulator has
what is a good brand for that adapter ?
that is a Gamon brand I believe but I think they stopped selling it around 2009
