I stripe across mirrors for my array. With RaidZ2 you'd be putting 6 drives per vdev (otherwise no space advantage over mirrors), giving you 4 disks more space but to add any disks you would then have to get 6 new disks to grow the pool. With mirrors I only need to upgrade 2 disks at a time, when I eventually need more space.
