“Best practices” Question RE gpu upgrade

Hi guys, put together a computer for my wife and decided I didn’t like the 570, and am going to swap it out with a 5600xt. What is the best practice regarding drivers?

Uninstall driver, replace card, reinstall driver?

Uninstall driver, use AMD cleanup utility, replace card, reinstall driver?

Just replace card and reinstall driver?

Just replace card?

Thanks guys

I can’t say for AMD, but for Nvidia we found that if you go to a newer card (980Ti to 1080Ti, for example), it was ok to just swap in the card. For going the other way, though, the drivers get all confuse and have to actually uninstall them and clean out thier settigns etc, then put the card and install drivers again. Even if its teh same version.

Prolly better safe than sorry though since it doesnt take that long to do?

install the card and install new driver it should have a clean install option that will uninstall previous driver

I typically use DDU, swap cards, then install the latest drivers.
