Best possible AMD only rig... Make one

I gave him some. Go with AMD, because it's cheaper than Intel, and for gaming, it will actually give you better performance. Especially for the money.

I'd say that to max out chrysis and gave a playable framerate, you really don't even need to spend 2k. Even 1k would be enough, realistically.

It would make more sense to spend about 1.25 thousand on a computer now and invest in a good 2560x1440 monitor (or several Korean ones) and build a new 1.25k computer in a few years. That way, you are getting better performance in the long run. And, a good 2560x1440 monitor (like the ASUS PB278Q 27") will last you several builds and will look just fantastic!

This goes along with what brennan was saying. I really see no problem with this build. It should handle Chrysis just fine. Maybe not at an extremely high framerate, however. If you want to spend a little more, spring for something like two 7870 Tahiti Le's or just buy a 7970.

The only thing I would change would be to switch the SSDs to a single 256GB (better price per GB) and maybe up the PSU to a modular one. Other than that, OP should get this and that ASUS 2560x1440 monitor and be set ;)

^Good advice. I went with a non-modular to keep the purchase price down and I just grabbed two 128s for the heck of it. Grabbing a single 256 probably is a better option.

Nevermind guys... Brennanriddell... All Intel sockets are now officially dead... From what I know and rumors, Intel will produce an CPU that is integrated into a motherboard so no upgrades except buying a new better processor/motherboard. I am kinda shocked, I dont know if its true or false. A suicide run?

Anyway 2000$ is alot for an AMD compared to Intel, I was just curious... Intel is never future proof, specially their motherboard and their "upgradeability" path... lol AMD has a better path, you can get a very old AM3 cpu and save up money for an AM3+ since motherboards for AMD CPU's have compatibility compared to Intel. Intel is superior, they are going for an high-end wibe, low power consumption and great arhitecture and leaving the low end market that is actually large, people will notice that AMD is actually the king of Low to Mid end PC CPU and GPU market.

I am sad that AMD controls just a portion while Intel is grabbing all the cash, not wonder why are we stuck actually. If both had similar shares in CPU market there would be great inovations rather than waiting for 3 years to something is really better than an counter part from 3 years back.

I will only buy AMD just to kinda help them, to stand up. atleast try to help them... Anyway I was a victim that involved Intel antitrust laws, those special discounts... Yea I got kinda involved because I got a crappy Pentium 4 that even Pentium 3 beat at some things. I wish I rather had an AMD Sempron 3000+ or better or newer. My PC that I got in 2004 costed about 10000+kunas with monitor, keyboard, mouse and a game. That was with a connection inside HG Spot so yea, got it below price thanks to my dad. It would really cost 15000+kunas or almost 3000$.

Today I would get for that kind of money a fuckin beast and rip apart, sadly because of crisis I cant afford it especially since my parents are divorced and everything is so fucked up. Atleast thank god I am born in Croatia, today USA has less democracy than we have right now... >_>

Good "Monster" Joke. You know... Like the drink that that guy drinks?

Tried to keep it close to the bufget no peripherals though.

Probably could downgrade the psu. Just put it there in case you wanted another 970 or watercooling loop or some shit.
