Any thoughts on getting the most performance out of video editing software in Windows + Looking Glass (Linux host)? I hear Adobe Premier doesn’t utilize GPUs much, so that is probably out… DaVince should, as far as I know, but last I checked don’t perform as well on AMD GPUs. I’m curious what you’ve tried & noticed performance-wise with video editing in VMs.
As a VFIO VM gives near bare metal performance I would expect that you would get near bare metal performance in your VM for video editing.
That depends primarily on your workflow, plugins, effects, among other things.
Premier is not one monolithic piece of software that can be evaluated with a single test. It’s a million pieces held together by spit and duct tape.
As for Davinci last I checked it performs better on the Pro drivers.
