I am having a very laggy experience with my netbook while net surfing, Specs : intel atom 1.66 Ghz N570 and 1 Gb ram. Suggest me the best os. Someone suggestem me DSL, anyone knows what should i opt for ! Thanks
I think it depends on what you want to do..... but i think its only for surfing, e-mail, word, maybe coding? I recommend a linux with a light GUI e.g. xubuntu/lubuntu (easy way). If you are advance in linux, you properly try arch linux (build your system on your own)
I probably have the same netbook you do; it at least has identical specs (except I upgraded the RAM to 2 GB)..
If possible, try upgrading to 2 GB of RAM at some point. It's pretty helpful.
I'd recommend a Linux Distro using XFCE. Xubuntu would be a good place to start. XFCE performs pretty smoothly on my netbook, and while it's not quite perfect it runs a lot better than Windows or more intensive Linux DE's (Gnome/KDE/etc.)
id give lubuntu 12.04 a go, it is very very fast. made my amd laptop with a 1.7ghz sempron from like 2004 be able to stream youtube at 720p again. was amazing!

Lubuntu. Also, Windows 8. Windows 8 seems to work very well on my netbook.
