Hi, looking into nvme enclosures. I tried one from MicroCenter but it’s not that great at all in terms of speed. Only getting 100mb/s or so. Would love something Thunderbolt 4, I see some available that are for Mac but unsure if they’ll reach the same speeds on Windows.
I am getting in excess of that on my SATA SSD enclosure (USB3.2 Gen 1, WD Green 240GB SATA M.2):
Sabrent is usually a reliable name in the peripheral space. Is this supposed to be external then?
Yes external is what I’m looking for.
That’s a good step.
I bought two of these. They use NVMe drives and not SSD so there is no SATA 600 MB/s limitation. You can get ~900 MB/s. USB 3.1. Price under $20.
I dropped a 128GB drive into mine for ISO and images for home. They cost $35 each (Currently, $21.94 on Amazon) and work a treat. Can go to 2TB.
That’s a really good option. Would love a push to 2000mb/s but 950 mb/s beats what I’d get from the 150mb/s I’d normally get.
Felt like I should mention the Sata-enclosure I have:

Similar version exists for PCIe:
