I need to buy an Nvidia graphics card for my sisters build (nvidia for better compatibility on certain games) and $160-$170 is her gpu budget.

It's also Sparkle..... If you like spending 160 for your card to blow up and not get a refund after a year, get it. If not, just get an EVGA GTS250.

id still take a standard gtx 260 by bfg over a gts 250 any day. i dont really see the point in buying a card right now that in a few months will be two generations of cards out of date. buying it now to me, would be like buying a hd2900 a couple months before the launch of the 4870 and 4850 would have been.

no. no. gtx 260 core 216 for 155$ i dont even know why in gods name you would suggest inferior equipment ever. besides, the gts 250 is like only 120 not 160

nice bro. You wont be disappointed by the framerates. I easily doubled my fps from my 8800gts in all of my games.

Exactly. It's well worth saving 20-30 dollars for an EVGA model. Awesome rebates, lifetime warranty, more tested and stable hardware and the step up program so maybe you could get a GT300 series card using the step up program. If they even still have it going on? I wish they would've taken an 8800gt but it was one of the few not on the list :/

Also, isn't the GTS 250 a 9800gtx+ just well overclocked?

Although at that price point, I'd pay $150 and get a HD4870 1GB.

The 250gts is a great card  for $89 to $120. For $160 i would  get 260gtx core 216  can be found for $124 to $170 I bought  a BFG 260gtx core 216 for $124 at bestbuy. both cards are awsome so get one.

I bought the card a long time ago lol, I opt'd for the GTX 260 216 core because that stupid gts 250 card [color=#ff6600][b]does NOT[/color] come with the [color=#ffcc00]spdif cable[/color] or the [color=#ffcc00]hdmi adapter[/color][/b].

 If I were to order it it would be $5 less then the gtx 260 that already comes with it and is a whole step better.

So much for saving money....the 260 also had lifetime warranty.
