Some ASUS board that supports all the features i need (including two way SLI)
and a 750 watt power supply.
I was wondering, over here in Australia, i can buy one GTX 670 for $360, or i can buy a 660 for around $250.
I'm trying to decide whether to spend the money on a 660 now, and get another when the SLI drivers have improved, or should i go absolutely all out on a 670.
This build will be used for heavy gaming and a little bit of editing, i'd also like to be able to record my gameplay. AMD GPUs are a little pricey over here too.
760 should be cheaper than the 670. And performes about the same if not better in some cases with a mild overclock. I was suprised the 760 did better at 1440p than the 670 and worse in 1080. When you see somthing odd like this it most of the time points to drivers. So maybe 1080p performace will climb drastacly in the future. And then maybe not.
Okay, so i have all the money right now and i think i'm going to go for the EVGA GTX 760 superclocked that Mcwoppersnaggy pointed out, if the drivers improve with time and has better capabilities (so to say) then the 670. That $360 670 is the cheapest possible one i can find without going secondhand, so i think a mid-range 760 will perform better
Just installed, got the superclocked ACX cooler version, runs quietly and beautifully (Even more quietly when i realised there was plastic on it) and GPU boost 2.0 can get me to insane framerates on ultra settings, very impressed.
