Title pretty much sums it up. Building an eyefinity gaming PC for a friend and wanted to know which one would perform the best. I see a lot of thin bezel monitors use HDMI primarily, however. Should I be concerned about that? Also, it would be helpful if it was an IPS panel concidering TN pannels are only better for over 60Hz gaming and the colors are really distorted anywhere but straight at the pannel. Obviously using AMD for the GPU. From what I can see the Gigabyte HD 7970 GHz card is the way to go. Want to try and keep a consistent lock of 60 FPS if possible on higher settings. Feel free to give input on the HDMI question or the GPU choice! Cheers :D
The input on the monitors doesn't really matter. The thing with eyefinity is one of the monitors has to use a display port on the graphics card (I have no idea why). So you'll need an active adapter from display port to DVI or HDMI.
This is the best way to go atm 5sm responce time, IPS, 1080p... tis awesome: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824009483
Hope that helps you! :)
*edit* Here's an active adapter for you http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16815242005
What about the video card? I know 7970 is the way to go, but to push out all MAX srttings and never have the frames dip below 60 if possible, which 7970 would you reccomend? :P
You would prolly need 2 7970s for 60 fps on ultra settings.
What anarmypig said. Get 2 7970s that you can overclock decently (Asus ones should be pretty decent). 60 fps at 5760x1080 is a big ask for one graphics card :P I'm probably getting the same config as you. Let me know how it goes! :)
Had two Gigabylte GHz cards in mind. Whats funny is my computer is $750 and hes ready to drop about $1750. lol
