Not sure if this is the right place to put this, but I've been looking at the ATH-50x and the DT-990-Pro-250, but I'd like to get a mic. I'm not a huge audio tech person, so I'm not sure where to even go besides here for info. What would be a nice desk mic, or something that connects to the headphones cable that I could get?
Get a modmic they are the best option for standard headphones.

The mod mic is probably a good solution. Or you could get a unidirectional clip-on mic. The Ultradisk 4033 has pretty good sound quality (definitely good enough for voice chat) from what I could tell and it's cheap. A desk mic can be problematic since it will pick up sounds from your desk like typing and mouse clicking.
Might as well go for the modmic, looks pretty cool. Also, I didn't think about the typing and clicking thing for a desk mic, that's a good thing to remember.
I personally will go for a clip on mic, since I don't feel comfortable with attaching the adhesive dock thing on the headphones themselves. I guess it's a very small negative aspect, but also something to keep in mind maybe.
