Best machanical gaming keyboard

Hey I just got done building my first gamming pc but I still need to get some periphreals(Idk if I spelled that right...) But anyways im looking for a key board. I want the key board to be machanical of course but I also want it to have a Blue back light. Also if so one could recamend a mouse also that would be awesome. I play mosly FPS games and minecraft. My budget is some wear between 100-150$

going to be honest here.... if you want a decent mechanical keyboard, you dont want fancy back lights or anything. an old model m, or similar on ebay, will probubly run you 25-40 dollars after shipping. for the mouse, i am very keen of the logitech g500's

There are plenty of nice backlit mechanical keyboards. Look at the Deck Legend, Ducky Shine, Razer Blackwidow Ultimate, and the Corsair mechanical keyboards.

always liked the older ones because of the metal backplate, and the fact that there were no innards that could break.... if you want to clean a model M you throw that thing in the dishwasher.... cant do that with the newer ones (usb controllers and stuff would break)

for the mouse you can go with th razer deathadder.  for the keyboard what kind of key switches do you want.

for The keyboard:

red key switches: corsair vengeance 590 or k60 k90 has blue led backlighting and k60 has none

black key swithes: azio levetron mech 5 no backlighting

blue key switches: razer blackwidow blue led backlighting

Brown key switches: coolermaster storm trigger cherry mx brown red led backlighting

Razer BW is a terrible keyboard don't buy it. Maybe the Corsair K90 but those aren't great KBs either. There are only two good keyboards with backlighting and they are Deck and Ducky Shines. If it says gamer on the box it's a POS.

I'm Looking at the ducky shine from this site. Do you guys know if this site reliable? if so I'm going to go with the ducky

personly i dont think the ducky looks good personly i would go with the corsair vengeance k90 for blue backlighting and the coolermaster storm trigger with red led backlighting and the logitech 710+

I have a Corsair K90. Highly recommend.

Whats wrong with Corsair? Im well versed on keyboards, i've used everything from Razer, Filco to ducky. My current keyboard is a K60. Find it well constructed, comfortable. And cleaning is great, Keyswitchs feel tight, for being reds.

The switches aren't plate mounted they're PCB mounted, meaning they're more squishy then they need to be.

I agrea i love my K90

sooo... what is so much better about mechanicals versus rubberdome anyways??? they type the same, don't they?

no, mechanicals are much nicer to type on, and you can type much faster. cant explain it... you just have to try one to understand... the tactile feedback from the switches actualy... switching ... makes all the difference

Ducky's official site is here. I own 2 of these (DK-9087S w/ MX Browns and a 9008S2 w/ Blacks) and I got to say the build quality is the best I can experience. The backlighting is the brightest I ever saw on any keyboards.

You can go with the Corsairs (K60 or K90) if you want, as the build quality from both are decent and it has more features than the Duckys (FPS-style palm rest for the K60 and macros and back-lit keys (for the most) for the K90). But do keep in mind that not all keys are mechanical. For example, the Function keys to the Scroll Lock, Del, End, etc area keys and the G keys on the K90 are rubber dome. But these are the keys that you may hardly use that much, so it won't make you disliking the K60 and K90.

Everyone says that the CM Storm Quickfire Rapid keyboards are the cheapest mechanical keyboards you can get currently. I's say look up on them as well. But one big feature missing on these keyboards would be the numpad.

One big difference would be the lifespan. Rubberdomes usually have less than 4m keypress of life, whilst mechanical keyboards have 10-50m or IIRC, some, like the Model M, have 100m of keypresses till EOL. It's all been said everywhere on the internet.

Well you can choose whether the deck is ps2 or usb, and I'm pretty sure they all have metal plates. I know the deck definitely does at least.

yeah, I went and looked up the stats on cherry mx switches, and found that out, i thought it was just something to do with some supposed improvment in accuracy or something, for extreme gamers... i'm gonna get a keyboard with mx brown, i tend to punch the keys too much, perhaps it will get me to stop
