My friend is buying a laptop this summer and he plans to do gaming on it, using a desktop for gaming is not an option for him at all. But the trouble is he has a small budget of ~$350. He doesn't plan to do heavy gaming only light gaming such as Garry's Mod, Counter-Strike:GO, Minecraft, TF2, and maybe Skyrim if he can.
