Hey all, i've been looking around for laptops for less than $1000 CDN that are around 11'6 inches (I really hate large laptops) but I haven't found that money good ones. One that I found is the Apple Macbook air which is $899 (link: http://store.apple.com/us/buy-mac/macbook-air ). I really don't like macs but it seems to be the best small laptop for less than 1k.
What I plan to do is take lots of notes, MAYBE a bit of programming, watch YouTube videos,play Minecraft, and run emulators. HDD space space isn't something I'll need a lot of because I'll be caring around a 64GB USB stick.
Please link me some good laptops which are small and less than 1k.

I do believe that Apple Mac book airs are very good in quality. They also have a very good battery life and I know someone who runs virtual machines on them. if you don't want an apple machine then have a look at sony. A YouTube channel called mobile tech review has lots of these types of laptops on review there.
Have you tried looking into chromebooks? I have 0 experience with them so I don't know if they will play Minecraft, but from what I've heard, they're perfect for that other stuff.
You could just get one of the larger 12 inch tablets floating around, although they'd have less battery life. Personally I'd get a cheaper laptop with an SSD thrown in, for what your needs are pretty much any laptop could do it. if you're going to take a lot of notes try to find a thinkpad 701 with a butterfly keyboard.
