I'm about to go ahead and place an order to buy upgrades for my machine, gonna pick up a 3770k and a GTX 780 and I just wanna make sure I've got the right one picked out for the best one without going all the way up to a 780ti. It seems that the extra 200 bucks just for a few extra FPS gain is a waste to me, so Im looking at the EVGA GTX 780 3gb classified:
for the price, well just anything that has a nice cooler that is the cheapest, i lean towards asus graphics cards because of all of there digital power magic but all are pretty much the same performance wise as long as it isnt throttling because of heat
I currently have a MSI 660ti and it is indeed a wonderful card, I'd imagine the 780 would be quite nice by them too.. any idea what the "N" stands for?
I own the 780 Classy.... it's a monster of a 780 and overclocks like a beast... I'd also recommend looking at the Asus Direct CUII (slightly better cooler) but you'll be very happy with the classy... second highest base clock behind the Zotac and blows it out the water in OC capability
I have no idea, but all of their Nvidia cards (with the exception of the 780ti cards) follow the NXXX name pattern - so maybe it simply stands for Nvidia ;-)
If im looking at the right one its like 499.99? its core clock is lower than what I would like to see, even if its got a better cooler Id love to see higher frequencies. So far I'm still leaning towards the Classified, seems to be a beast of a overclocker as a lot of reviews claim and just looks better imo lol
Edit: Sounds like ill need to order the backplate from EVGA for it though. Did you grab one?
I've got this thing core clocked a bit over 1300 and it's stable as can be... I just kind of stopped there... runs at 65C... I love this card...
the only complaint at all is the white LEDs on the side of it that you can't turn off... kind of clashes with my Enermax blue LED fans :/
keep in mind... it's a FAT card... make sure you have the case for it... the 2x8-pin PSU connectors are on the side facing the window... so you need clearance for it's fat ass + cables
Ive got a Beast of a case, I'm not worried about space at all. Coolermaster Storm Trooper. No side window so im not worried about the white LED's
I think I'm convinced, the Asus although about $50 bucks cheaper is nice but this one seems to be more what I'm looking for still. Thanks for the Input!
