So I need a graphics card and would like to run crisis at atleast 60 fps, I was looking at a 780ti but I dont know the best for my budget.
Could someone recommend me one and help will be appreciated. :)
System specks: i7 3770k kingston hyper x ssd
1000w corsair rm series, not sure on my motherboard.
Im actually in england so its like £575ish
780ti is better than the titan and even titan black from what i have read. 290x is another option but i prefer nvidia.
Have you heard of google?
I remember a 780ti King Pin addition being announced which has 6gb. So that would be top dog
find a Nvidia 780Ti with the highest boost clock Gigabyte and EVGA offer 1085MHz boosts and those would be the best.
GIGABYTE GV-N78TOC-3GD: 1085MHz
ZOTAC AMP! Edition ZT-70504-10P: 1072MHz
EVGA 03G-P4-2884-KR Superclock: 1072MHz
EVGA 03G-P4-2888-KR Dual Classified: 1085MHz
GIGABYTE GV-N78TGHZ-3GD: 1150MHz
since you are in England the R9 290x shouldn't be inflated like here in 'Merica. so save a fair bit of money and go with a R9 290x. Get a non-reference cooler, it will have 2 or more fans on it.
PowerColor PCS+ AXR9 290X: 1050MHz
GIGABYTE GV-R929XOC-4GD: 1040MHz
MSI Radeon R9 290X: 1040MHz
SAPPHIRE TRI-X OC 100361-2SR: 1040MHz
MSI R9 290X LIGHTNING: 1080MHz
another option would be going with Dual of the step down GPU, a SLI 780 or Crossfire R9 290 will out power perform a single 780Ti or R9 290x. With a 1k watt PSU you will not have any problems with that.
i did not find as many links to these.
GIGABYTE GV-R929OC-4GD R9 290: 1040MHz
PowerColor PCS+ AXR9 290 4GBD5-PPDHE: 1040MHz
GIGABYTE GV-N780GHZ-3GD: 1071MHz
ZOTAC AMP! ZT-70203-10P GeForce GTX 780: 1059MHz
PNY VCGGTX7803XPB-OC GeForce GTX 780: 1059MHz
from performance lowest to highest
GTX780
R9 290
R9 290x
GTX 780TI
Dual GTX 780
Dual R9 290
ps these are newegg links but they should help you searching in your retailer of choice.
PSS i do not know what happened with the spacing, the forum doesn't like Shift+Enter
I second the crossfire 290 setup. However, keep in mind there is no guarantee that every game you play will support crossfire. Look at the new Asus ROG Matrix 780ti/290x or MSI 290x Lightning. Both of those are absolute monster cards and will overclock to hell and back again.
I was looking at the gigabyte 780ti ghz edistion because its got a silly fast boost clock and the r9 290 and 290x are still quite expensive and only obout 80 ish pounds cheeper.
So is the gigabyte any good?
i personally would recommend a single or dual configuration of an AMD R9 290 or Nvidia GTX780. even single cards that are one step down from the top will be able to power almost any game out at 60fps. the Top tier cards add a few frames per second but you pay a lot more for them. If money isn't a problem pick a GTX 780Ti.
any of the cards i linked are "good," any of these upper end cards, even ones i did not mention, are built well.
gigabyte, Asus and EVGA are some of the best. they often use custom boards that provide better power and have better cooling (having 2+ large fans instead of a single fan) that make the card last longer and as "the Drugs" mentioned they can overclock*.
Overclocking, in my opinion, will not add enough performance to the game to make any difference, especially if you have vsync on.
