Best GPU for VFIO with large amount of VRAM?

My current machine has a Sapphire RX480 Nitro+ paired with an EVGA GTX970 ACX 2.0 and I’m told I want to pass the nvidia card to windows. Well, ok. My original plan was the 480, but looking up why, ok makes sense. The card needs to be able to reset completely. What I’m currently questioning though is if my current 970 will be up to the task with future games.

I’m concerned about VRam. As 6GB is a pretty concurrent normal nowadays, a 980 or a 1060 would be my base point I think. However, if there are AMD cards that work just as well in VFIO I would be pleased to know.

Thanks.

I wanna say the and card that had like 16 or 32GB was compatible but idk off the top of my head, I’ll check Wendell’s review
