Hello I'm thinking of buying a graphics card, What is the best GPU that i could get with a 430w power supply? So far i'm thinking of getting a gtx 960.
Is there a better AMD counterpart that is better than the 960,cheaper, and how much wattage does it need?
Thank you! Here are my current specs in case your wondering CPU: AMD A10-5800K APU 3.8 GHZ - Newegg.com/CPU PSU: CORSAIR CX series CX430 430W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply - PSU
MOBO: ASRock FM2A75M-DGS FM2 AMD A75 (Hudson D3) 6 x SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Micro ATX AMD Motherboard - Newegg.com/MotherBoard
I curerntly have a 280x and my system uses about 300 watts while gaming. The 380x uses less power than the 280x, so you should be good up through that as far as AMD goes. For nVidia, you can go all the way to a 980 without problem. Personally, for the money, I really like the 4gb 380. It does really well with 1080p gaming and beats the 960 and 950 as far as price to performance goes. That would be my pick.
Oh wait. I just realized the specific psu that you are using. As mentioned before, the power consumption will be below 400W, but I wouldn't trust a CX430 with that much. They just aren't good PSUs. If you can afford a 980, then you can afford a 390 and a decent psu.
