Best free Antivirus?

Hi, i was using Bitdefender before my reformat. My back up failed and i had only enough passes for 3 comps, all used, so i'm running with out a antivirus at the moment. What would you recommend for temporary purposes?

Well this forum really needs a search, lol.

For the best security from free Antivirus I'd look at Avira. It tends to nag once a day or so about there being a pay version, but its detection scores are top notch for a free solution.

Avast Free is good enough, it just doesn't have a firewall.

AVG is a good alternative.
