Best File Encryption for Google Drive(?)

I have made the choice to use Google Drive to backup my files, but since Google does not include any form of personal encryption, I am looking for the best solution. I guess I need to encrypt the files before they are synced up to Google? Looking for a automated solution for this.

I use Windows 8.1 and have the latest version of Google Drive. I have installed VeraCrypt and 7Zip, just information if this is something I might could use to fulfill my goal.

More information can be provided if needed, just ask :-)

There may be someone else who have asked this question before, I am almost certain, but I have not had the luck to find a post using the search engine in this forum :S I also was not sure where to put this post, I was looking for a Security category, but did not find it. Maybe I am a noob browsing this forum, but heck, I needed to post this, so If you know I have posted it the wrong place, please let me know :)

I'd choose something like one of the dedicated backup solutions such as 'Crashplan' to backup your data, rather than an advertising company.

I am a Google fanboy so that is not a good enough persuasion for me to change my choice ;) If I find a good solution to encrypt my files before they are uploaded to Google Drive, all automatically, I would be fine. I know they already have some sort of encryption, but that is not good enough for me. I want a encryption that I choose myself, type of encryption and my own personal encryption password.

I recommend giving OpenPGP a go. There might be some GUI frontends that can automate, but I really only use OpenPGP to encrypt passwords and upload them to Dropbox and send signed/encrypted emails.

I will give it a try. I guess I need to download Gpg4win then, since I use Windows.

What about Boxcryptor?
