I have been thinking about replacing my old Logitech Desktop minijack microphone for something better, but i have no idea what to look for. I also have some friends on ts3 that needs advice for good cheap microphones.
Why are there so many usb microphones, what are the benefits/drawbacks, it seems redundant to me since i have a onboard soundcard.
What are technical keywords to look for when i need a microphone that just pick up the sound in front of it within ½ a meter?
What would be a good cheap desktop microphone (sub 25$).
What would be a good desktop microphone (around 100$), and what would I gain by going higher?
Can't seem to find any mic's built specifically for desktop voice chat settings, but the "Blue Snowball" seems very popular with podcasters, but i am not really looking for something that requires me to sit close to it when i talk.
No comments, but in case someone stumbles across this post i thought i better wrap it up...
I ended up buying a Blue Yeti, i am not disappointed.
The recorded sound is great.
It's really tall and i have to put in on the side of the monitor, but audio is still awesome.
It has a feature to plug in headphones with a volume level that i won't really use.
I would love it if they had an alternative stand and cable that would allow it to sit closer to the table, but it's sort of just chillin on the side now, so it's fine.
In hindsight, a Blue Snowball would have been better for me.
