i dont plan on recording video, editing, or streaming
i plan on mainly gaming, and using it to browse the internet
im really looking for a good i5 or maybe pentium, all help is welcome!
If your just gaming, go with an FX 6300.

It goes perfectly with your H97 mobo and is amazing in terms of gaming performance.
Personally just about any CPU from an i5 to and FX series should be fine in this rig but you should pick up a Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo.

With that mobo, I would also say a Xeon 1230 V2 or V3 as it in a hell of a unit that will not overpower your board. as your Mobo is not all that beefy, a Xeon will put out tons of power without the need for a large PSU and an I5 will not over clock that well on your board. Also, a xeon will not require anything but it's stock cooler.
If you want an intel cpu for gaming I'd say the i5 4670K or FX6300 if you go with amd.
I use the fx6300 myself for gaming and it's really good for the price! If you want to spend more you could also go with the fx8350.
An i5-4460 wouldn't need anything but the stock cooler as well but is a lower price point than the Xeon. I never understood the need for a non-stock cooler if you don't plan on overclocking. Always seemed a bit overkill to me.
