Best Cooler/Watercooler forAMD Phenom II X4 965

Hi,

I built a PC myself about a month ago, and although it works super fast - it's really loud.

At first I thought it was the Graphics Card fans, but since then I have had to replace the graphics card (for another reason) and it turns out it's the CPU (AMD Phenom II x4 965 Black Edition) and the noise is unbearable.

If anyone has any suggestions of what cooler/watercooler I should buy it would be very much appreciated, preferrably under £50-60 if possible.

Thanks, Richard.

By the way - as quiet a heatsink possible would be great, thanks.

If your not overclocking just pick up a Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO for £25 (you can even get some overclocking out of it)

if your looking to spend £60 grab a Phanteks cooler like this one

It is huge so if your running a micro case and not a full size atx case get a coolermaster 212

The PH-TC14PE is by no means quiet; if you want silence, you'll have to get new fans. It performs fantastically, though.

Thanks guys, I'll check these out.

Just so you know, the PH-TC14PE while pretty loud at 100% on the stock fans, will obliterate any other cooler for that price.

Thanks. I wouldn't be able to get that model anyway as I have a Fractal Design Core 1000 mATX case.

Would I be able to fit a (cheap) watercooler in there? or are they built for Full ATX?

Cheap CLCs are not worth it at all.

The Phanteks PH-TC14PE will fit in the Core 1000, by the way.

Really? Thanks :)

The performance of the low-end CLCs is noticably lower than the equivalently priced air coolers. The PH-TC14PE will murder cheap, and most high-end CLCs.

Thanks for the advice, really appreciate it.
