Best Cooler for i7-3820?

Currently using the "Corsair H80i" closed loop liquid cooler with a pair of eLoop fans in push/pull configuration.

I know this CPU can handle temps up to the 90 mark but for peace of mind I would like to keep the processor as cool as possible.

So can anyone recommend a better AIO or Air cooler?

Im using the Noctua NH-U12S with the i7-3820 oc'ed to 4.3ghz and the temps i get aren't too bad. At full load i get between 55-65c and at idle i get around 35-40c. I cant recommend an aio cooler because i don't exactly trust them, but when i was running a proper 360 loop a year ago i was only getting around 5-10c below what i am getting with my current cooler, so it doesnt exactly make a huge difference.

Whats wrong with the Corsair H80i you are currently using?

H80i is really good, not sure you will get much better unless you go custom loop or h100i with some NF f12s. You could go Noctua, like a nhd 14 or 15 but the performance is about the same as your h80i.

Well partly because the temperatures aren't great and it might sound silly but I feel the need for change when I'm going to be upgrading my NZXT Phantom to the Corsair 760T soon.

The H100i is a feasible option actually with the Noctua NF f12s PWM fans. I'll be changing case soon so may look in to the sizes soon.

If your not overclocking a 3820 and are using the cooler you currently have, then you should at least be getting reasonable temps.

Are you sure you have mounted the waterblock to the cpu properly?
