hey i just want to be able to hit 4.2GHz with my core i5 4670k without spending too much cash on a CPU cooler, i really wanted a Noctua NH-U14S but cannot find it in my country so i was thinking about just getting a Cooler master 612 and eventually investing in Noctua fans. Anybody else have any good recoomendations regarding the core i5 4670k. would be greatly appreciated.
Noctua NH-D14, Phanteks PH-TC14PE, Phanteks PH-TC12DX, Xigmatek Dark Knight II, Silverarrow Extreme, any the newer line of TT coolers, like the CLP0564.
12DX and Dark Knight would be most appropriate for running 4.2.
Most coolers will hit 4.2, in all honesty
I have the Hyper 212 evo and hit 4.5Ghz on my 3770k. It's great cooling for the price, especially around the $29.99-$34.99 price range depending on where you buy.
Consider that performance may vary, given the different thermal pastes and setups people use. My cpu is delided for use with better thermal paste on the die and my internal heat spreader has been lapped, so that helps the heat transfer.
If your 4670k doesn't have problems with the thermal paste applied on the die, then the Hyper 212 evo should perform similarly.
