For under $50, I would recommend a NZXT source 210.

For under 50 a NZXT source 210 is a good option. They have a few different styles as well.

for me its a tie between the bitfenix merc and the arc midi.

I dont know about you but................. go without?

What about a Corsair 200R?

I know this is cheating but it is just such an incredible deal! If you can stretch that up to $65 you can get the Fractal Design Arc Midi R2.

That case is built to handle anything.

For micro ATX: fractal design core 1000 usb 3.0

for regular atx: fractal design core 3000 (not usb 3.0)

USUALLY the antec gx700 is less than $50. And that has good features for the money also.

i'm also looking at cases in this price range and was thinking about getting the nzxt source 210 with a window

Yeah that is a good case. Good airflow with a pre-installed fan on the back. Sharp looking case too. I really like the Corsair line of cases the best though.

My build will be ATX size. I would like to take advantage of USB 3.0 instead of leaving a dead port.

I have a 200r, it's a really nice case, good airflow and tons of places for fans. Be aware if you want to use a h60, h80 or whatever for your cpu, you might have clearance issues with ram dimms or your cpu power plugs on your mb if you mount it on top.

Nah, I'll be using a Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO on my FX 6300.

Then you shouldn't have any problems with it. It's really just a personal choice for you then, 200r is a really simple case. 2 usb 3.0s, a mic jack, headphone jack, power/reset on the front panel. I like it, my last case had leds, about a year in, I realized I hated leds.

+1

Excellent cable management and plenty of ventilation. Windowed ones are $49.99 and ones without are $38.99.

Note:

*If you plan on mounting a single fan radiator on the back, it'll have fit issues with the side door. And you can't mount a radiator on the top because the motherboard gets in the way.

*Air coolers like the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo barely fit. It'll rub against the side panel. If you choose one with a window, it'll scratch the plexiglas.

That's good, but again. This is what i posted up there..

Well... how about the Corsair 300R? Also, does the 212 EVO always rub against the case panel? I've never heard that complaint before.

The antec GX700 has plenty of room for a cooler and good airflow, and USB 3.0... and a fan controller. You can add fans to it if you want too. Its a good case for the money. I think it's $52 right now, but more months it was $40. you can probably still find it for that someplace.
