I was wondering which are the best brands for Nvidia and Amd cards ( build quality, warranty, customer service, price,etc...) Everyone tells me Evga for Nvidia cards and I've also heard good stuff about Sapphire for Amd. What do you guys think?
I'm thinking of purchasing either a 680 or a 7970 with a $500 budget and any help would be great.
Umm, Sapphire is king for AMD as far as im concerned, then HIS and Gigabyte are about tied, then comes ASUS, then MSI, then Powercolour, then XFX.
For Nvidia, Evga, then Galaxy & Zotac, Asus & Gigabyte, then MSI, PNY and Sparkle.
It comes down to the different versions though, if i went Nvidia unless i was watercooling i probably would go EVGA just because of how loud blower style coolers can get, the Galaxy KFA2 on the other hand is probably the best noise vs temp cooler you can get for Nvidia cards.
AMD is more or less the same, the Sapphire Vapour-X is rediculously cool and quiet, even under a heavy OC, and HIS is also pretty good, i have a Gigabyte card and the ZWindforce cooling is pretty good, but does get quite loud when you ramp up the fans, however you can OC the crap out of the card and to keep it under 70c the fans only have to hit 60%, shoing how much headroom you have if you dont mind a bit more noise when gaming ect...
Thanks guys I'm going for the gtx 680 because the games I play benchmark better on it and I only play stuff like starcraft 2, civ 5, and Total war so I've never needed multi monitor but might get Day z when it comes out
