Best AM2+ motherboard?

My friends wants to do a somewhat cheap AMD build. He'll be getting the Athlon 64 X2 7750, but I really don't have a clue what to get when it comes to an AMD motherboard.

What's the best AM2+ motherboard for under $100?
Also what would be some good RAM to get for it?

Thanks!

Look at the MSI k9a2 CF v2. Its a great AM2+ board for the price.

Do you know if it overclocks well? I think he'll be wanting to do that sometime

what about this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813186150

I'd say pick any of the 790GX chipsets. Preferably something by asus, gigabyte, or msi. Might be a little over 100 but he'll be able to crossfire later if he so chooses. I would say make sure it has the SB750 for the south bridge if he wants to do any overclocking.

i have the 730A from evga... its nice. Do you want SLI or not? any 800 or 1066 mhz dual channel ddr2 ram will do really, if you're gonna game on it then get some of the higher end and well cooled ram from patriot or ocz.

+1

try an evga 730a, there is no sli and it needs a bios update but it works good and is only 90 dollars.

My friend uses this motherboard with a AMD Athlon 64 X2 7750 BE and he OC'ed it to 3.2 easy with a good cooler, works just fine

I agree as well as they do release more potential from the earlier Phenoms
