Best cheap 7970 is a high-end 7950.

Well most of the ones under $350 are reference cards which suck but you can snab a MSI twin frozr and an iceq for under $350 which are both quite good.

That $100 over budget.....I'd go with the HIS IceQ X² its a hell of a card for the money!

There will different preferences, but I vote for asus or MSI. Both companies have excellent reliablilty rates. Most cards are very similar so I look for reliability.

yes , not one ASUS product let me down .... EVER ! ( i have/sold 3 systems made from all ASUS parts )
