Okay, creepy introduction line over, the subject title says it all:
What is a good recommendation for a 23-24" 1080p IPS monitor? My price range is about US$150 +/-. I would prefer to stay away from glossy screens, and to have a response time around 5ms. Refresh rate isn't as important as I will not be playing many FPS titles.
I have been eyeing the Acer H236HLbid 23" listed for US$149.99 on NCIX US for sometime now, but with its glossy screen I am worried it'll annoy me too much. I want a monitor, not a mirror of course. Asus and Dell has some nice monitors I've read, but would like to see some fresher opinions.
So, any recommendation would be greatly appreciated. I live in the United States if this information becomes necessary.
I actually have the Acer H236HLbid 23". I got it off of amazon for 190 though... :(. Its 150 on newegg right now also.
But anywho its really glossy. BUT Its really only glossy when you have it off. When you get the thing out of the box it looks so damn sexy. I have it on max brightness and I can't see anything. Its glossy when you have it off. You can literally see yourself in it. But when its on no reflections.
I actually had 1 dead pixel the first time I got it. It was in a really terrible place so I had to return it. Amazon fucking handled it like a pro. They gave me a return slip no questions asked.
The second one I got had a defect and after awhile it had a dead pixel. However this one isn't as noticeable as the last one. And as for the defect I have my monitor at a angle so I don't really see it.
Lg 23EA63 is the IPS monitor I use, very slim and sexy looking, 60hz refresh rate, 5ms response time, color depth is great and its only about £150, so whatever that is in dollars. Would highly recommend
