Best 115-130 dollar headset (with mic)

Hi, I'm looking for a new headset, and i have been thinking about buying the Razer Kraken Pro or the SteelSeries 7H, anyone have any experience with any or both of these ? Or if you can recommend another good gaming headset (with good built-in mic) for around 115-130 dollars. It will be mostly used for FPS games and a little music (bass-heavy).

I had a bad experience with Razer products. But I would recommend the one that I am currently using: Thermaltake e-Sports Shock One. http://www.thermaltakeusa.com/store/Product.aspx?C=1154&SC=1164&ID=1505 I absolutely love these. They feel really comfortable on my head. But it really depends on how you feel with any headset. I can put my ears in the thing and it won't hurt my ears. I love them. Sound quality is great.

I have a logitech g930, and its pretty good

dont get the lofitech g930 its usb powered get something from sennheiser or something

Sennheiser U320 or just 320.

He never specified if he had onboard or a dedicated audio card. I can also vouch for the G930, the directional sound is amazing even for virtual. As for the music I had to use the Equalizer a bit to get it to my liking but after that it was great. If you're a laptop gamer or using onboard the G930 is a pretty good option, that and you eliminate the damn cable in the process.

I've got the 7H, its my second pair after the first one snapped. They have fixed the design flaw that caused this issue. They really great, better than most common headsets, although they are no where near as got as a very good audio headphone (I've got the audio tech m50's), if you don't need the mic or can get an after market one, get a better sounding headphone.

Thank's for all the answers, but it was mostly about the specified headsets, but i can try and just write more specific what i want, that should make it a bit easier. I would like a "over the ear" (I think it's called?) where you'r ears are inside the ear-thingy's not a headset that is sitting "on top" of you'r ears (like the Sennhesier U320/320 that was suggested). I would like it to have a good mic because i couldn't really find any mic's that wasnt too expensive. I am probably buying an ASUS Xonar DG soundcard in about two month's when i have money for it and I will also be buying the headset in around two month's (I have birthday there so I expect to get some money). It should have a pretty good directional sound (and good mic for speaking with my team) because I will mostly play FPS games with it. It would be nice with good bass in them, but it doesn't matter as much as directional sound and mic quality. I don't want a USB headset/headphone. And I live in Denmark if it helps anything with prices or something.. :)

U320 is over ear..

Rosewill RHTS-8206. Damn good bang for the buck. I do have a video review on youtube

I can't buy the Rosewill headset here in Denmark, and with the U320 headset thing... Well, I'm not sure what it's called, but I want a headset where your ears are inside the ear cup instead of the ear cup pushing on your ear or sitting on top of your ears. Apparently there is no one that has tried both of the headsets that I started to mention or just tried the Razer Kraken Pro to see if it has a good mic and good sound, because I have only heard good things about the 7H (except of it maybe being a bit fragile). Because I really like the look of the Kraken Pro, but if it sucks I dont want it. But I haven't got a single answer between these two headsets. I have also posted the question on multiple youtube videos.. :)

Have anyone tried the Plantronics Gamecom 780 headset ? I've seen some reviews but I can't really decide... It just seems a bit too cheap to be good.

I have, all the Gamecom headsets are phenominal. To the OP, you may want to consider buying a seperate mic+headphones since if you're buying a top end sound card you'd get the most out of a pair of headphones as opposed to a headset.

i have a pair, i was really surprised when i got them, the virtual sound doesnt only make games sound better but also music. the sound quality is also really good.

i recommend them

Okay thanks for the answer, and yes I have actually been looking at something like a Sennhesier but then there is only reviews with it where they test it with music, not gaming. And I don't know enough about speakers/headphones to know if there is a difference, like it's good for music, but it isn't really that good for positional audio (I think it's called?) where you can hear the enemies footsteps and gunshots and so on.

And I am buying a sound card, but I wouldn't call it top-end :) It was just the cheapest one I could find made by a decent brand, and it have the "Headphone amp" which should make the sound a bit better in headsets/headphones as far as I could understand. And it needs to have 5.1 since my speakers are 5.1... I rarely use them, but if I decide to, it would be nice not just to use them in stereo or something :)

Okay Dentheman, maybe I will buy them... Just still think they are just a bit too cheap to really be that good, just find it hard to believe :)

7H's are really good I've had them for a year and the only problem with them is the ear cups are now getting slightly dirty, but I could probably clean them if I really wanted to. They also come with 2 different pairs of ear cups, one for an "open" experience and another for a "closed". I prefer the open ones as they let me listen to things other than the game/movie/music. Linus from LinusTechTips recommends them aswell. :)

I have one, it comfortable, the vitual surround is good, and so is mic, I have no complaits about it.

Okay thanks for the answers. And I already knew about the two different ear cups that the 7H comes with, and that Linus really likes them, but ofcourse you couldn't know that :) He is also giving a pair away with a keyboard and mice and stuff like that.

This is what I've been wearing as of late, worth it when I bought them for $75, certainly worth it now
