Beast Newegg bundle

I normally don't like Newegg bundles because most of they time they throw in a cheap PSU, a meh... graphics card or a shitty case.  But this one has it all!  A beast graphics card, a sexy case, a reliable PSU, and an SSD!  And it has a nice combo discount too!   I really like the part selection and acutally thinking of choosing it for a friend's build.  I'll just slap in a Phanteks CPU cooler.  Here it is if you want to see it: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboBundleDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.1469912

its ok.

And when he says it's ok, he means it's ok if you can't build your own computer. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/22YXU

no i do think its fine. I wouldnt pick that motherboard, ever.....like never...... but im not a fan of gigabyte, its fine for gaming and what carbon messaged you is the same thing but with an intel chip and more ram.

Why what's wrong with it?

bad luck with gigabyte just dont trust them any more. I have friends who swear by them though so guess to each their own.

gigabyte am3+ boards are notorious for overheating vrms

Similar maybe but not the same thing, it already has the phanteks cooler, better motherboard in general with alc1150 sound and intel nic along with pci express 3.0 slots intel chip has better scaling on sli or crossfire and everything can be overclocked including that 30nm ram. Just a much better platform in general and 1150 might have another generation of chips released for it.

i disagree with you. Scaling is a software thing. and you can overclock anything on a good amd board, but then again you need a good intel board to be able to overclock 2 properly. for the pci lanes. well people show me proof that pcie 3 does anything for a normal consumer over pcie 2. then the intel nic, go and spend the 20$ and get a dedicated nic card or if your crazy get a killer lan card. and no the socket 1150 is a dead end socket skylake is going to use socket 1151. and finally to be honest, if sound is that big a deal to you, you are going to be getting a dedicated sound card as they are in most cases considerable better performing as long as you send more then 20$ on it.

Wrong, a decent sound card is like 70-80 dollars, the rest is junk with bad caps in the signal path, xonar dx 5.1 whatever. Secondly, you're forgetting about broadwell which is still up in the air. Intel sata 6 ports are better, and it's 30-40 for a pci-e x1 intel nic, killer stuff is garbage. When you are buying quality parts the price difference isn't great enough to justify writing off the z87 platform.
