Bay Trail and Linux

Okay so I got a Toshiba Chromebook 2 and I love this thing, but I would like to know when I could run something like Arch Linux on it.
Its the FHD version so I'm all good on spec front.
Anyways adding to this, how would this affect my battery life, would I need to wait for a kernel update?, and is there a proprietary Linux driver or is Intel all open source.
Also if I installed Arch Linux on the laptop, could I reinstall Chrome OS afterwards? I have a USB disk with a recovery image on it.

Many Thanks

I don't think you have to uninstall Chrome OS, Arch is probably similar in the process, but not entirely sure since I never got a chromebook to test it.

Hello OP,

I would not recommend trying to fully delete ChromeOS on "BayTrail" Processors.
They're a bitch.. They like to lock up, and do weird noise dumps if you do something it "doesn't like" which is a lot of shit..

There's a man named "John Lewis" who does on and off development for the this kind of stuff.
I would like you to take a look at this list of "Chrome Devices" that play well with other OS Installs.

ROM Download

I would also read this as well

Baytrail Release

You can do the "Crouton" method to install different Linux Distros.
That run basically side by side with ChromeOS.
Which is still pretty nice.

Hope this helps you mate,

Thank you for the advice, think I will stick with VNC currently then until its developed more.
