Battlemage and Vegas Pro 20 (aka video rendering)

Hello there. So here I am with my little AMD Ryzen 9 3900X 12-Core Processor, 32GB RAM and a very trusty Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1060 Windforce OC. (Running windows 10 for the moment)

I’ve watched the review videos from L1, GamersNexus and J2C - still I am not any wiser so I ask the community. May I overlook something, misunderstood or simply failed to grasp it because the reviews are in English and that’s only my second language.

So my question is: If I replace the 1060 with a Battlemage card will that improve my rendering speed? Or is the nvidia encoder just the fastest?

What would be the benefits of a Battlemage vs the 1060 be? What drawbacks? Could I run both in the same system to utilize the render engine?

Please share your thoughts and opinions. Thank you

Based on raw raster performance you’ll blow the 1060 performance out of the water. If Vegas supports NVENC it’ll close the gap a bit but Intels codec support is basically unmatched. If you’re willing to roll the dice on some driver funny business (Vegas can be flaky even on mature hardware as you well know) I’d say it’s a worthwhile update. You certainly have enough CPU horsepower.

It’s not easy. I can’t find any in stock at or around MSRP. If you can drop the link please. I’ve seen others around here with a similar issue.
