Battlefield 4 Pc Requirements

So the specs for battlefield 4 have been released. Just wanted to see what everyone's opinion is on it. Personally i find it interesting that the recommended specs says we need 3 gigs of vram and either a quad core or six core cpu.

Well i whont be haveing any problems with my 8 core then ^_^

Will BF4 utilize all of the 8320/8350s 8 cores?

Unlikely.

Jeezum, that looks ridiculous. Arma 3s Reccomended isn't even a high as this.

I exceed recommended... lol

Then there should be a try hard section as well. ;P

7870 eh? I'm assuming this is all 1080p,... This is the one bad side about owning a 1440p monitor. the requirements go up by 180%

False.

BF3 already stresses ALL 8 cores in my 8350 during online multiplayer. With the console transition to 8 core processors, why would they make the game run on less cores?

Meh.... still not upgrading my 580 until the next gen. 3 gigs of vram? I doubt it.

But the real fun is check out the AMD vs Intel flame war in the link.

What percent of cpu usage is reported? Is it uniform on all cores or does it taper off on the lower cores?

Those guys give such balanced arguments. I wish they would host the Tek, or something.

Why would they recommend a 7870/660 and then say that 3gb of vram is what you should have.

Yes same here with my FX8320.

It's a bit strange.

Is there even a 7870 with 3GB DDR5?

I have a HIS 7870 Turbo X IceQ. But only 2GB of VRAM

No i believe the 7870 only have 2gb models.

But the 660 has a 3gb that i never knew about.

Its one of the first games to use DX11.1 (thats why its recommending windows 8) maybe thats why thay recommend 3gbs of vram but i still dont see you useing more than 1.5gbs @ 1080p

that's good to see, forcing GPU and CPU manufacturers to step up their game.  Good job DICE, push gaming!  I hope they optimize dual gpu, got two 6950's running like 6970's.  i'll upgrade next gen gpu but so far i haven't found a game i couldn't max out, even skyrim with crazy 2k res texture mods and shit.  Battlefield 3 has pretty good performance with dual gpu.

im eager to see what Star Wars Battlefront looks like, since DICE is doing it. the pretty "real world" look is nice, but i bet the pretty Star Wars universe look will be much more sweet to my eyes.

on a side note, i don't even meet the minimum, so there ya go XD

Damn i need a new GPU and 2 more gigabyte of ram lol.
