I have been running Battlefield 4 with dual monitors since its launch with out any issues. I like to have Battlelog open on the 19" monitor (main windows monitor) and the game to start up on the 37" TV. I should mention that the 19" monitor is connected to my video card with a VGA cord to a VGA/DVI adapter and into the card. The 37" TV is connected through HDMI.
At this time, with all the BF4 settings remaining the same since initial setup, the game will not start up on the 37" at all. Everything now takes place on the 19" monitor. The only way i can get it to show on the larger screen (aside from setting it to windowed mode and dragging it over, which is not an option) is to change the "Fullscreen Monitor" selection from one and back to the other. Then is shows correctly, but the settings won't work the way they're supposed to when I exit and start a new game. The same thing will happen again.
This change occurred the day after I switched the VGA cord for a DVI cord on the 19" monitor. I assume whatever change was made happened the next day during start up of the computer which is why it didn't happen the same night, as I had the computer on at the time of the cord switch. Since then Ive tried to search for instances of others having a similar issues and have turned up nothing so far.
I have tried Ultramon and Display Fusion to try to force the program where I'd like it but it only moves the Battlelog around. It seems the games internal settings manage the monitors. I have also tried changing that DVI cord out for the original VGA cord and the problem remains. The VGA cord is still currently installed. I've thought about finding a way to remove the monitors from the windows registry and reboot but I'm not confident enough to touch that without guidance.
I am open to Ideas here guys. Its not a huge issue for me but I think you can all relate to the compulsion to act on a not so serious computer issue that just bugs the hell out of you.
I'm very interested to learn what happened here. Thanks Much!
