a friend gave me his laptop to fix and keep since its newer then the one im currently using. the major problem is when booting up windows 7 a load bar comes up stops half way and then i get an error message 0xc00009e. so im guessing that the hard drive is toast. if thats the case if i buy a new hard drive and a version of windows 7 how do i go about getting all the drivers for the laptop since it doesnt have a restore disc . sorry in advance im pretty new to this stuff. also could i just get an ssd .
You could try the recovery cd and try the suggested stuff there, if you want to get up & running as fast as possible.
I dont think its hardware related, it could be a softwarefluke of windows. did you have any probs with the HDD lately?
Manufacturers webside will have all drivers/downloads for the laptop.
i guess the hard drive fell out becuase the plastic cover was lost long ago somehow. my guess was that maybe the hdd came out while someone was using it.
