I just installed the new version of the kernel on Kali
I have upgraded from 4.4 to 4.6 but since then I can't adjust the brightness of the back lighting on my laptop anymore...
Can someone help me?
Just to make it a little easier: Kali is based on Debian.
What kind of laptop is it?
A dell vostro 3559
how did you upgrade the Kernel?
Debian kernels have lots of patches, so it may be that whoever rolled the new kernel has not selected a particular driver.
This tutorial helped me with my old HP laptop. It's for Ubuntu but it's based off Debian as well.
Simply with apt get dist upgrade
I ll try asap
Sorry, it's not working... un fact, it tells me that he don't recognize the screen when I'm looking in the gnome control panel
