Beer, besides my lady and volunteerism, is my passion.

I am fortunate to live in a very beer friendly town, host to multiple 'micro' brews. I have a feeling Ninkasi and Hop Valley beers aren't very micro anymore, but they both make some fantastic beer.

Back when I first started drinking beer, probably around 19 (don't tell the coppers) it was Keystone and Coors, if I was lucky. Now I am a diligent IPA drinker. I prefer the high ABV and hop counts...the more bite it has, the better. I've tried to put my finger on what caused the extreme change in taste, but haven't come up with a good theory. It's easier for me to explain how I went from listening to Van Halen to Godsmack to August Burns Red and Parkway Drive.

How have your tastes changed? Did you go from drinking water, like me, to full flavored hop power houses? Or did you go to stouts and why?

I am trying to explore the beer world as much as possible, but I find myself going back to the same profile. I am interested in how everyone else found their way into the beer culture and discovered their tastes.

Let me know!
