hello,

I want to buy an AX1200i (1200W) power supply,but i want to know if i can power 3 R9 280X toxic whit it. it says on the R9 280X toxic that you need 750W for one 1000W for crossfire. so it woud be logic that you need 1250W for 3.

So tell me if it s possible to power 3 toxic beacaus if not i will go for a 1000W power supply and buy a new one at the same time i buy the 3rd toxic.

You could easily power 4 280x GPUs with an AX1200. You can easily power one with a 450-500W power unit at stock clocks.

Not to sound totally rude (I am saying this to help you), but it doesn't sound like you know too much about this kind of setup. You would need an appropriate motherboard with enough PCIe lanes to get the most out of 3 GPUs. Which would mean choosing a socket 2011 motherboard.

And to get an enthusiast gaming experience, you don't need that much GPU horsepower. Unless you're mining for crypto-currencies?

Incredibly overpriced PSU, not worth it at all. 3 GPUs will run fine on an 850W unit, but you may want a 1kW PSU if you plan on pushing those under LN2 (only reason I can see to get 3 high-end models of high-end GPUs and an overpriced and oversized PSU.

I just bought an AX unit. It is red, and it is wonderful.
