Awesome modded mechanical keyboard

Hey all,

I've ordered an Anne Pro keyboard from China and want to mod it a bit.

I chose it because of these things:

  • 60% layout which I really like
    • I use the NEO keyboard layout, which includes a number pad, arrow keys, page up, page down, end, home, .... on layer 4
    • F keys are available with the Fn key
  • RGB lighting
  • Bluetooth
  • RGB controllable via Bluetooth (via an Android or iOS app by default)
  • Cheap (in China it's only $55 USD
  • USB as an alternative to BT (I want to use it to install my Arch!)
  • Mostly positive reviews

Some of the things I have planned:

  • Sand the top of the keycaps like in this video
  • Software tweaks: reverse the protocol and write a Linux CLI and GUI (some work already done here)
  • Afaik it doesn't have rubber feet, because you can order a 'case'. I will try to build or 3d print an own case or just stick some rubber under it.

FYI I ordered it directly from Obins, but because they only sell it on Taobao (Chinese ebay) and explicitly state that they won't take care of problems in international shipping, I decided to use a Taobao agent, in my case Bhiner. This will add some cost, but it is still much cheaper. Note that they will ship it as a gift by default, which is effectively tax fraud.

Yeah I saw this go up cheap on /r/mk on reddit. Looks really nice but I talked myself out of it, all ready have three MX boards, mechs are nice but I would need something other than another MX switch to draw me in.
