Automatic portable hard drive backup

Could you set up two portable hard drives so when they are plugged into ANY PC (eg even a work or public PC) they automatically back one up to the other.

(I am amusing that the hard drives are identical and we are running windows)

You can't make it automatic without software (auto executes don't work that well any more for security reasons). It's easier to write a script that does this and execute it by clicking on it.

Could you give some more info, like what's on the disks and what would change.

Have a look at toucan backup. It's a portable app you can place in the root directory of your hard disks. You still need to manually start the process though. This is because windows doesn't allow auto execution of files on usb drives
