Audio question

I have just gotten a new set of headphones, but its 3.5mm cable isn't long enugh to reach my computer. Will running an extension cable ruin my audio quality? Thanks, any answer is apprecated.

no, not if it is a good quality cable. however it will ruin your quality with a cheap one or having multiple extenders. Monster should have nice extenders but theyre a bit pricey.

realistically, I expect you would have to get quite a long extension before you started noticing any treble frequency loss & even than could compensate with your EQ .

Edit to add:

Avoid Monster Cable, you just have to google "Monster Cable bullshit" to see many news articles on why they are a bullshit company, selling bullshit cables.

Thanks guys

Are there any cables you reccomend?

cool i didnt know about that. i was just reffering to the gold plating and the insulation. just go to frys or similar store they should have good quality ones around $15 or less the brand doesnt matter much.

I have a a cable by Fisual that was £5 and I really like as it has robust chrome metal plugs, but as nikita_y says, as long as its got gold plated contacts, screened cable and is no longer then you really need, your good to go!
